<image:title>The Origami Sculpture with Motif ORI-SS-01</image:title>
<image:caption>This sculpture series explores two basic concepts: storytelling and three-dimensional modeling.

Storytelling is explored in terms of symbolic elements of motif or character. In daily life, the application of symbolic elements is all around us. Some examples include logos, colors and signage design in public places. Other examples include sand and stone used to symbolize landscapes in Japanese dry landscape gardens, and flower petals used to symbolize blooming cherry blossoms in Japanese tea ceremonies. How can we separate essence from impurities in ordinary things and present them in the simplest manner to leave the audience with the greatest space for imagination? Here, the artist approaches his work taking the “hands” as a central theme. Simplifying the form of the hands, its figurative form disappears to leave behind only the essence of its “dynamic”. In the art works, clean lines are used to symbolize hand gestures, containing the storytelling within dynamic movement and focusing on the force and beauty of movement and poise. Each piece represents the observation, imagination and interpretation of hand gestures.

The form of the works is inspired by traditional Japanese origami. Taking a piece of paper as a single unit, the grace and resilience of paper is shown through the methods of bending, folding and cutting, from which the expressive possibilities of flat, semi three-dimensional and three-dimensional sculpture modeling are explored. In these works, he specially made use of the hardness of iron and other metals to highlight the softness of paper, adding an interesting visual and tactile contrast to the work.

For the artist, artistic creation is like creating a negative space, emptiness or void. Being able to accommodate the imagination of the audience to the greatest extent and interact with them forms the greatest driving force for creating.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Origami Sculpture with Motif ORI-SW3</image:title>

<image:caption>Chair with Belly Button is a series of lightweight and
portable chairs that allows users to utilize the spaces
around them, such as stairs, floor, or piles of books, to
provide a more comfortable sitting experience. The
chair’s design redefines the idea of conventional seats
by providing unexpected sitting options. The image
of the chairs came from a dreamy scenario - a group
of floppy and melting forms scattering in a space.
They quietly lean against the walls and in the corners
like little fellows sleeping. Each chair has its own belly

<image:caption>The Red Nose Twins features two opposing cannon balls playfully linked by a tense wire, showing their inevitable connectivity. On this path, the two bases simultaneously move as user wobbles each one base. As they come close to each other, the bases attract and repel each other with magnets inside of their bodies, which create pushing or hugging gestures. This toy is about enjoying the balancing process between two different motions.</image:caption>
